Breaking: The 24 years old American football wide receiver Holds Off on Mega Deal with Vikings, Awaits Clarity on Quarterback Saga…

Justin Jefferson is in no rush to sign a long-term contract with the Minnesota Vikings, as he awaits clarity on who will be the team’s quarterback next season. This decision could have a significant impact on Jefferson’s future with the team. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Jefferson wants to know the team’s plans at quarterback before committing to a mega deal.

Despite expressing his desire for Kirk Cousins to stay, Jefferson has also stated that he is open to playing with another quarterback. He emphasized that regardless of who throws him the ball, he will continue to play at a high level. Jefferson’s performance on the field speaks for itself, having set records and earned Pro Bowl nods and All-Pro honors.

Last season, Jefferson faced challenges due to injuries and changes at the quarterback position. The Vikings struggled after Cousins was injured, trying different quarterbacks like Josh Dobbs, Nick Mullens, and Jaren Hall, but none could replicate Cousins’ consistency.

Jefferson is expected to sign a historic deal with the Vikings, with his market value projected to be around $29.3 million annually. However, given his performance, he could surpass $30 million annually, potentially resetting the wide receiver market. Cousins, on the other hand, is likely to command a significant salary, possibly in the range of $40-$45 million annually.

Despite the uncertainty at quarterback, Jefferson remains focused on securing a lucrative contract. He sees it as a life-changing opportunity and is eagerly awaiting the call that will finalize the deal. This situation highlights the importance of the quarterback position and how it can impact other players’ contract negotiations and future plans.
