New Update: Breakdown of Indiana Pacers Following Trade Deadline Moves For 2024 NBA Draft Picks…

The Indiana Pacers’ draft situation for the 2024 NBA Draft has undergone significant changes following the trade deadline. With the acquisition of Pascal Siakam and the departure of Buddy Hield, the team has adjusted its draft asset portfolio, focusing on both short-term improvement and long-term planning.

In the trade that brought Siakam to Indiana, the Pacers traded away three first-round picks, two of which were for the upcoming 2024 draft, with the third slated for 2026. Additionally, they acquired a second-round pick for the 2024 draft from the New Orleans Pelicans.

When Buddy Hield was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in a multi-team deal that brought Doug McDermott to Indiana, the Pacers acquired a 2024 second-round pick and a 2029 second-round pick. These moves have reshaped the Pacers’ draft assets significantly in recent weeks.

Compared to their position a month ago, the Pacers now have three fewer first-round picks but three additional second-round picks, two of which are for the upcoming 2024 draft. Here is a breakdown of the Pacers’ updated draft picks for the 2024 NBA Draft:

– Second-round selection from Toronto, Utah, or Cleveland: Acquired in the Hield trade, the Pacers will receive the most valuable second-round pick among themselves, the Raptors, the Jazz, and the Cavaliers. Currently projected at 37th overall.

– Second-round selection from New Orleans or Chicago: The Pacers will receive the worse of the second-round picks between the Bulls and the Pelicans, currently projected at 51st overall.

– Second-round selection from Milwaukee: Acquired at the 2023 trade deadline, currently projected at 54th overall.

– Second-round selection: The Pacers will receive the worst second-round pick among their own, Utah’s, and Cleveland’s. Currently projected as the Cavaliers’ pick at 56th overall.

It is important to note that the worst of these four second-round picks will be sent to the Golden State Warriors as part of the Cory Joseph trade. As of February 15, the Pacers’ 2024 draft picks are projected to be 37th, 51st, and 54th overall, with the 56th pick going to the Warriors.
