Breaking: A two-time All-Star, 29 years old Arrives at Camp Ahead 2024 Season With Much Energy…

Twins Star Correa Excited for Season After Relaxed Offseason

Carlos Correa, the Twins’ star shortstop, arrived at camp in Fort Myers, Florida, feeling refreshed after an offseason that was notably free of the stress of free agency. Unlike in previous years, Correa didn’t have to wait to sign a contract, allowing him to focus on his preparation for the upcoming season.

The 29-year-old used this offseason to refine his skills, concentrating on adjustments to his swing, particularly in his lower-body positioning and hand movements. This was a response to a somewhat disappointing 2023 season, where he struggled with plantar fasciitis and fell short of his usual offensive standards, batting .230 with a .711 OPS and a 94 OPS+.

Correa’s offseason routine was structured and focused, starting with early morning workouts followed by fielding and batting practice. He also made sure to spend quality time with his family, especially with his young sons, Kylo and Kenzo. Despite a brief vacation, he maintained a disciplined schedule to prepare for the season ahead.

Dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot took some time to resolve, but Correa is now feeling strong and has resumed running and infield work without any issues. His manager, Rocco Baldelli, noted Correa’s positive mindset and the good place he’s in as he begins spring training.

Correa is not only optimistic about his personal performance but also about the team as a whole. He praised the Twins’ offseason acquisitions, noting the strength of the bullpen, the depth of the starting rotation, and the overall quality of the lineup. He believes the team has what it takes to compete at a high level and is eager to see how they perform as the season progresses.

With a relaxed and focused approach to the offseason, Correa is ready to hit the ground running and help lead the Twins to a successful season.
