The Florida Panthers secured a 3-2 overtime victory against the Ottawa Senators, propelling them into first place in the Eastern Conference. Anton Lundell netted the game-winner just 1:36 into the extra period. Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour also contributed goals, with Sergei Bobrovsky making 28 saves for the Panthers’ sixth consecutive win. For the Senators, Thomas Chabot and Tim Stutzle found the net, but Joonas Korpisalo’s 31 saves weren’t enough to prevent their third loss in four games.

In another overtime thriller, the New York Islanders edged past the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4. Adam Pelech scored the winner just 57 seconds into overtime, his first goal since last April. Brock Nelson, Mathew Barzal, Simon Holmstrom, and Mike Reilly also scored for the Islanders, with Ilya Sorokin making 37 saves. Valtteri Puustinen and Drew O’Connor scored in the third period for the Penguins, who have now lost five of their last six games.

The New York Rangers continued their winning streak, notching their eighth straight victory with a 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars. Igor Shesterkin made 41 saves for the Rangers, while Adam Fox, Kaapo Kakko, and Vincent Trocheck scored the goals. Miro Heiskanen scored the lone goal for Dallas, who have now lost two consecutive games.

In a high-scoring affair, the Washington Capitals defeated the New Jersey Devils 6-2. Alex Ovechkin and Connor McMichael each scored twice for the Capitals, with Charlie Lindgren making 37 saves. Alexander Holtz and Erik Haula scored for the Devils, with Nico Daws allowing six goals on 26 shots.

Lastly, the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Minnesota Wild 6-3, ending the Wild’s six-game point streak. Gabriel Vilardi led the Jets with two goals and an assist, while Laurent Brossoit made 36 saves. Kyle Connor, Mason Appleton, Sean Monahan, and Nino Niederreiter also scored for the Jets. Marco Rossi scored twice and Kirill Kaprizov added a goal and an assist for the Wild. Marc-Andre Fleury made 24 saves in the loss.
