Breaking :Maple Leafs’ 25 years old Goalie Joseph Woll Returns After Three-Month …

Goalie Joseph Woll has returned to the Toronto Maple Leafs after a three-month absence due to injury. The 25-year-old was recalled from his conditioning stint with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, where he made an impressive 36 saves on 37 shots in a game against Laval.

Woll had been out of action since suffering a high ankle sprain in a game against Ottawa on December 7. Before his injury, he had a record of 8-5-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.

The Leafs’ goaltending situation has improved recently, with Ilya Samsonov winning six straight starts and nine of 11 since clearing waivers in January. Martin Jones has also performed well, winning seven of 11 games since being called up to replace Woll.

Meanwhile, Valeri Nichushkin has been cleared to resume practicing with the Colorado Avalanche after receiving care from the player assistance program. The 28-year-old Russian entered the program in mid-January and is now in the follow-up care phase, although he has not yet been cleared to play in games. Samuel Girard, another Avalanche player, previously entered the program and resumed playing after roughly five weeks.
