The NBA is making an exception to its rule for Heat center Thomas Bryant, allowing him to briefly enter Ball Arena in Denver on Thursday to receive his 2023 championship ring from the Nuggets before the Miami Heat play the Denver Nuggets. Bryant, who is serving a three-game suspension, will have to leave the arena after the pregame ceremony.
Bryant’s suspension stems from an on-court incident in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans, where he left the bench area during an altercation and was involved in a fight. Despite only playing 29 seconds for the Nuggets during their championship run last season, he is still eligible to receive his championship ring.
Acquired from the Lakers in a four-team trade last February, Bryant has appeared in 25 games for the Heat but hasn’t been a regular in the rotation since early in the season.
In other news, the Heat listed Tyler Herro as questionable for Thursday’s game due to a hyperextended left knee, which has kept him out of the past two games. Kevin Love is also questionable with a right heel bruise, while center Orlando Robinson is probable with back spasms. Josh Richardson remains out with a dislocated shoulder.
