Breaking: Packers GM About to Decide on 3x Pro Bowler David Bakhtiari Future Amid Uncertain Health and High Salary…

Green Bay Packers GM’s Uncertain Stance on David Bakhtiari’s Future
The Green Bay Packers surprised many last season by transitioning from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love and finishing strong. Despite the team’s focus on young talent, veteran left tackle David Bakhtiari’s early-season injury thrust rookie Rasheed Walker into the spotlight.

Bakhtiari showcased his skills in the season opener against the Chicago Bears before being sidelined for the year due to a knee injury. Walker, a 2022 seventh-round pick, admirably filled Bakhtiari’s shoes, finishing the season with a 74.7 pass-blocking grade, the second-highest on the team.

With Bakhtiari’s uncertain status for 2024, GM Brian Gutekunst faces a tough decision. Bakhtiari’s hefty $40 million salary cap hit, coupled with his injury history (missing 38 games in three years), makes his future in Green Bay uncertain. Gutekunst acknowledged the possibility of cutting Bakhtiari, which would save the team $21 million.

A decision on Bakhtiari’s future is expected before the new NFL league year begins on March 13. With Bakhtiari still recovering from his latest knee injury, it appears likely that his time in Green Bay may be coming to an end.
